Job summary

Synchrony Identity and Access Management (IAM) seeks a seasoned technical leader to spearhead our authentication edge, delivering high-assurance MFA, SSO, and passwordless experiences across enterprise apps.

As VP of Authentication Services, you will own the platform architecture, roadmaps, and 24/7 operations for workforce and B2B identity perimeters, guiding a high-caliber engineering team to scale secure, zero-trust authentication globally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a technical STEM discipline required.
• Minimum 10 years of total enterprise IT engineering experience.
• Okta Identity Cloud design, scale and operations experience (5+ years) required.
• 5+ years of leadership in distributed, cross-functional engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Own workforce authentication strategy focusing on security and user experience.
• Implement leading authentication trends to improve security and usability.
• Direct product management and roadmaps for core authentication tech (Okta, YubiKeys, FIDO2/WebAuthn).
• Collaborate with leadership to build data-driven business cases for key initiatives.
• Author secure authentication patterns and zero-trust reference architectures.
