Job summary

Synchrony Identity and Access Management (IAM) seeks a seasoned technical leader to head our authentication domain. This VP role focuses on MFA, SSO, and passwordless pipelines within a Zero Trust framework, directing elite teams to scale and operate high-throughput authentication services.

The individual will own platform roadmaps for core auth tech (Okta, YubiKeys, FIDO2/WebAuthn) and collaborate to align security with user experience, while ensuring 24/7 availability across mission-critical

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a technical STEM discipline.
Alternative Education: High School Diploma / GED with 15+ years of enterprise IT engineering experience.
Minimum 10 years of total enterprise IT engineering experience.

Responsibilities

Own workforce authentication strategy focusing on security and user experience.
Implement leading authentication and authorization trends to improve security and UX.
Direct product management and technical roadmaps for core authentication technologies (Okta, YubiKeys, FIDO2/WebAuthn) using Jira to build epics, features, and stories.
Collaborate with leadership to build data-driven business cases for high-value initiatives.
Author secure production-grade authentication patterns and zero-trust reference architectures.
Lead 24/7 engineering and operations to ensure high availability and incident response.
