Job summary

New Issue IQ is seeking an experienced Principal Engineer in New York City to own the technical vision for how bonds and capital structures are represented and processed. You will lead AI-driven engineering efforts, manage production on AWS, and guide the data architecture across the platform.

You will collaborate with executive leadership to set the roadmap, interpret market data constructs, and ensure data correctness while delivering rapid merged changes.

Qualifications

• Experience owning technology at an executive level: roadmap, bets, and commitments.
• Deep understanding of fixed income or market-data technology.
• Data-correctness instincts and risk awareness.
• Strong TypeScript, Postgres, and .NET skills; Python is a plus.
• Ability to lead multiple AI agents with precise specifications.

Responsibilities

• Own the technology strategy and the architecture across the platform, the data pipeline, and the infrastructure
• Translate company goals into a technical roadmap, be accountable for delivery against it, and decide what the company is not building
• Run AI agents as your primary method of development: several in parallel, specifications precise enough to execute, and fast, skeptical review of what comes back
• Merge your own work within agreed risk tiers, because you understand what each change puts at risk: customer data, shared reference data, and the main branch staying green
• Protect data correctness: no look-ahead, every deal delivered exactly once, shared reference data never corrupted
• Own production: AWS, deploys, and alarms, so you know when something breaks
• Own the data operations system and the human-in-the-loop review that runs through it
• Grow the engineering capability and own its budget: today agents, tooling, and standards; over time, people
• Own security and resilience, and represent the technology in client and investor due diligence
