Your resume and cover letter, tailored to exactly what they’re hiring for.
New Issue IQ is seeking an experienced Principal Engineer in New York City to own the technical vision for how bonds and capital structures are represented and processed. You will lead AI-driven engineering efforts, manage production on AWS, and guide the data architecture across the platform.
You will collaborate with executive leadership to set the roadmap, interpret market data constructs, and ensure data correctness while delivering rapid merged changes.
LOCATION New York City · REPORTS TO CEO
New Issue IQ unlocks opportunities in the $10 trillion credit market. Today, data in the credit market takes the form of PDFs, emails, and chatroom messages. Our custom AI models turn that fragmented information into clean, real-time reference data on every deal: the record every buy-side firm, bank, and technology platform needs to make informed investment decisions, meet compliance requirements, and spot opportunities faster than they otherwise could. Our clients are institutional: banks, asset managers, hedge funds, and the platforms that serve them.
Every deal we capture adds to a historical record of the credit market that is the foundation for everything we build on top of it.
We are AI-native and we run a software factory. Implementation is largely handed to an automated toolkit working against our coding standards, documentation, and validation logic, while the team makes the decisions and designs the system. We ship to production 10 to 20 times a day.
You will own the vision for a system that interprets how bonds and capital structures are constructed, and understands what that construction means for the people trading them. You will set the path to building it and the pace we move at.
You will decide how issuers, their capital structures, and every instrument they bring to market are represented, so that our data matches how the market actually works. The rest of the system follows from those decisions. The difficulty here is not writing the software; it is knowing what to build.
Agents execute work that has already been decided; they do not decide. Almost all of that judgment currently sits with the CEO, and that is what limits how fast we move. This is a hands-on executive seat: you will run several AI agents at once, merge your own work, and sustain a pace measured in meaningful merged changes per day, not per sprint. You are accountable to the CEO and the board for what gets delivered and when.
