Job summary

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln is seeking a Chick-fil-A Shift Lead to join our dining services team. You will provide leadership and supervision to Team Members during your shift, ensuring a high-quality guest experience and adherence to food safety standards.

You will delegate duties, oversee front-of-house and back-of-house operations, train new staff, monitor inventory, and maintain presentation and product quality while delivering excellent customer service, including POS duties and cash

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED plus three years of food preparation experience.
  • Ability to read, write, weigh, and measure.
  • The ability to communicate is essential.
  • Food Handler’s permit or ability to obtain by passing the Safety and Sanitation test required.

Responsibilities

Description Of Work
  • Serve as a member of the management team by providing leadership, direction and supervision to Team Members during their shift and ensuring a high – quality experience for guests.
  • Provide day-to-day operational leadership:
    • By delegating shift duty assignments to staff/students
    • Oversee front end and back of restaurant operations
    • Ensure products and ingredients are stocked and available based on forecasting
    • Training new team members
    • Ensure presentation, quality, and food standards are met
  • Provide excellent customer service to all guest through front end and back-end operations which may include:
    • Greeting all guests in a friendly manner and addressing guest concerns
    • Accurately entering orders into the POS system and cashier duties
    • Food preparation and monitoring food quality and safety
    • Front end and kitchen stocking
    • Ingredient preparation
    • Inventory, dish machine operation, cleaning duties, opening, and closing procedures

Minimum Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma/ GED plus three years of food preparation experience and mastery of all kitchen and dining tasks and attributes; equivalent experience/education considered.
  • Ability to read, write, weigh, and measure necessary.
  • The ability to communicate is essential.
  • Must have the ability to train and lead others.
  • Food Handler’s permit or ability to obtain by passing the Safety and Sanitation test required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Supervisory experience.

Posted Salary $18.00/hr minimum
