Job summary

Labcorp seeks a Technologist Trainee to join our Mass Spec team in Burlington, NC. The role involves performing routine and complex procedures, operating and troubleshooting instrumentation, and ensuring quality test results for patient care.

New grads are welcome; full training provided. Work schedule Thursday-Sunday, 10:00pm-8:30am, with benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) and PTO. This is a great entry point into clinical laboratory science with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
High level of attention to detail and good communication skills.

Responsibilities

Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to SOPs.
Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
Demonstrate ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
Report accurate and timely test results to support patient care.
Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.
Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
Assist with processing of specimens as needed.
Maintain a safe work environment and wear PPE.
