Unknown Healthcare Organization in DeLand, FL is seeking a Supervisor II, Laboratory (Chemistry) to oversee core laboratory functions and monitor workflow from specimen processing to results reporting. This onsite role requires a licensed supervisor with clinical chemistry expertise and a track record of leadership in a high-volume laboratory.

The position emphasizes quality, regulatory compliance, and team development, with duties spanning staffing, performance reviews, and SOP implementation.

Qualifications

• 6–8+ years of experience as a Medical Technologist and/or Laboratory Supervisor.
• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Biological Sciences, or a related field.
• Active Florida Supervisor License in Clinical Chemistry and Serology.
• Current certification from a recognized professional laboratory certifying agency, such as ASCP, AAB, or AMT.
• Experience supervising laboratory operations and/or laboratory personnel.
• Experience with clinical chemistry/core laboratory operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall direction, communication, and oversight to laboratory teammates regarding workflow, assignments, and departmental responsibilities.
• Ensure adherence to established procedures and quality assurance requirements.
• Monitor laboratory workflow from specimen processing through results reporting.
• Monitor performance against established targets, goals, metrics, and service requirements.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiencies.
• Monitor workload and delegate responsibilities appropriately.
• Establish staffing plans to support effective utilization of laboratory personnel.
• Resolve operational and quality issues related to workload and workflow.
• Ensure appropriate staffing coverage during teammate absences.
• Cover laboratory work benches as needed.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Biological Sciences, or a related field

Active Florida Supervisor License in Clinical Chemistry and Serology

Current certification from ASCP, AAB, or AMT

6–8+ years of experience as a Medical Technologist and/or Laboratory Supervisor
