Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Team Lead- Chemistry to join our team at Ascension SE Wisconsin Hospital - St. Joseph in Milwaukee, WI. The role includes supervising the chemistry department, ensuring specimen acceptability, and maintaining quality control.

The position is 1st shift (6:00AM–2:30PM) with every other weekend and holiday rotation. A Bachelor's degree in a chemical or biological science and MLS/MLT experience are required, with supervisory experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological science.
• 2+ years of experience as MLT or MLS.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the supervision of the day to day operations of the chemistry department.
• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care.
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Ensure all equipment is being properly maintained through Quality Control.
• Prepare and maintain Quality Assurance records and documents.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
