Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Scientific Informatics Lead to drive ELN and scientific data management across discovery, medicinal, synthetic, and process chemistry functions. You will partner with scientists, informatics specialists, and vendors to translate workflows into scalable platform capabilities.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Dotmatics Chemistry/ELN or similar platforms, plus leadership across requirements, workflow design, configuration, testing, deployment and operations.

Qualifications

• Strong domain expertise in medicinal, synthetic, process chemistry or discovery research.
• Hands-on experience with chemistry-focused ELN/scientific informatics platforms.
• Understanding of experiment capture, chemical structures, stoichiometry and data traceability.
• Experience gathering requirements, configuring workflows, testing, and releases.
• Leadership of scientific informatics platforms beyond basic support.

Responsibilities

• Lead requirements discovery for chemistry experiments, reactions, compounds, samples, inventory, and reporting.
• Translate workflows into user stories, specs, data mappings and acceptance criteria.
• Provide senior oversight for ELN configuration, testing, deployment readiness, and support.
• Design/workflow optimization for experiment capture, reaction management and inventory tracking.
• Guide integrations with registration, inventory, assay, analytics, instruments and repositories.
• Support governance, metadata, reporting and data quality initiatives.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams including chemists and validation, security and vendors.
• Develop SOPs, training materials, release notes and platform docs.
• Support platform modernization, migration and continuous improvement.
• Provide technical and functional leadership for ELN platforms in R&D.
