Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Scientific Informatics Lead to drive chemistry-focused ELN and scientific data management across discovery, medicinal chemistry, synthetic chemistry, and process chemistry functions. The role partners with scientists, laboratory teams, informatics specialists, and technology stakeholders to translate complex workflows into scalable platform capabilities.

Qualifications

• Strong domain expertise in medicinal, synthetic, process chemistry, or discovery research.
• Hands-on experience with chemistry-focused ELN and scientific informatics platforms.
• Experience gathering requirements, configuring workflows, testing, and platform enhancements.

Responsibilities

• Lead requirements discovery for chemistry experiments, reactions, compounds, samples, inventory management, and scientific reporting processes.
• Translate workflows into user stories, functional specs, data mappings, and acceptance criteria.
• Provide senior oversight for ELN configuration, workflow design, testing, deployment readiness, defect resolution, and user support.
• Design and optimize workflows for experiment capture, reaction management, structures, stoichiometry, registration, and inventory tracking.
• Guide integrations with registration systems, inventory platforms, assay systems, analytical applications, and lab instruments.
• Support data governance, metadata management, reporting, and data quality initiatives.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams across chemists, informatics, validation, infra, security, and vendor partners.
• Develop SOPs, training materials, test evidence, release notes, and platform documentation.
• Support platform modernization, migration, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide technical and functional leadership to ELN platforms.
