Job summary
Cognizant is seeking a Scientific Informatics Lead in the Phoenix area to drive chemistry-focused ELN and data platforms across discovery and development. You will partner with scientists and informatics teams to translate workflows into scalable capabilities.
The role requires leadership across requirements, configuration, testing, deployment and support, with hands-on experience in Dotmatics Chemistry/ELN or similar systems and strong chemistry domain knowledge.
Qualifications
- Strong domain expertise in medicinal, synthetic or process chemistry.
- Hands-on with Dotmatics Chemistry/ELN or comparable platforms.
- Experience designing workflows, data mappings and acceptance criteria.
- Experience with scientific data governance, traceability and reporting.
- Experience leading scientific informatics platforms beyond basic end-user support.
- Familiarity with multiple ELN platforms (BIOVIA/IDBS/Benchling).
- Proficiency in Python, SQL and REST APIs for data integrations.
- Experience in pharma R&D or regulated environments is desirable.
Responsibilities
- Lead requirements discovery for chemistry experiments, reactions and inventory processes.
- Translate workflows into user stories, specifications, mappings and criteria.
- Provide senior oversight for ELN configuration, testing, deployment and support.
- Design workflows for experiment capture, reaction management and inventory tracking.
- Guide integrations with compound registration, analytics and lab instruments.
- Support governance, metadata management and data quality initiatives.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including chemists, validation and IT.
- Develop SOPs, release notes and platform documentation.
- Support platform modernization and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide technical leadership to ensure ELN platforms support R&D objectives.
