Job summary

Adjunct instructors at Tarrant County College—South Campus—provide chemistry instruction in multiple modalities, including on-campus and online, with weekend sessions as required. Reporting to the SO Physical Sciences department, you’ll use college resources and the LMS to support student success and outcomes.

Minimum qualifications include a master’s degree in chemistry or closely related field, with regional accreditation.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Medicinal Chemistry.
• Master’s degree with eighteen (18) graduate hours in one of the above disciplines.
• Degree must be from a regionally accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

• Teach classes based on varied schedules and modalities (Dual Credit, On-Campus, Online or Weekend College).
• Prepare and deliver instruction using the College Master Syllabus and LMS.
• Communicate regularly with students and college officials (email, calls, meetings).
• Pursue activities to enhance subject matter expertise and teaching methods.
• Prepare assignments and assessments to achieve learning outcomes.
• Maintain an active classroom environment conducive to student learning and success.
• Keep attendance records and certify enrollments by deadlines.
• Evaluate student performance per department standards and provide timely feedback.
• Post grades in the LMS weekly and submit final grades on time.
• Assist in assessing student learning outcomes and program outcomes.
