Job summary

Lone Star College is seeking an adjunct faculty member to teach Chemistry courses at the Magnolia Center and surrounding locations. This part-time role supports student learning with engaging lessons and adherence to course objectives.

The position involves teaching a variety of chemistry classes, maintaining course syllabi, and advising students. Candidates must hold a Master's degree in chemistry-related field or 18 graduate hours in chemistry and be committed to academic excellence.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, or a chemistry-focused master's with 18 graduate hours.
• Experience teaching chemistry at the collegiate level is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teaches Chemistry courses at a variety of times and locations.
• Creates engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of the material.
• Submits required college reports and forms in a timely manner.
• Utilizes a course syllabus for each course, following established institutional guidelines.
• Meets with and advises students either before or after class or by appointment, electronic communication, or other appropriate methods.
• Evaluates students to measure their progress in achieving course objectives and informs students in a timely manner of their progress.
• Maintains professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.
• Attends meetings, trainings, and orientations as required.
• Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned
