Job summary

Porter Logistics in Atlanta seeks a Chemical Repackaging Lead to launch and operate a new liquid repackaging capability. You will act as on-the-floor lead, ensuring safe, accurate, and efficient production while establishing SOPs and quality standards for a brand-new process.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of relevant experience operating machinery or working in a chemical, manufacturing, or process-driven environment.
• Forklift operating experience is required.
• Prior experience in chemical manufacturing, blending, filling, or packaging operations is strongly preferred.
• Physically demanding, repetitive work with lifting and standing for production runs.
• Mechanical aptitude, with ability to operate pumps, valves, scales, and related equipment.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to follow instructions precisely and identify discrepancies.

Responsibilities

• Operate semi-automated or automated filling equipment for liquids or solids.
• Set-up, adjust and troubleshoot machinery to maintain correct fill weights and flow rates.
• Read and follow production orders, GHS labels and batch instructions to ensure correct product, container and label match.
• Perform sealing, labeling and packaging according to customer or regulatory specifications.
• Record production data such as lot numbers, quantities and equipment settings.
• Follow chemical safety procedures including PPE use, spill response and safe material transfer.
• Understand SDS, GHS labeling and hazard classes.
• Operate within OSHA and facility safety rules like LOTO, Hazcom etc.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas to prevent cross-contamination.
