Job summary

Air Liquide is hiring a Chemical Operator in Newport, DE to operate complex chemical processing equipment on a 12-hour Dupont schedule. The role involves following detailed instructions, performing batch manufacturing, and ensuring safety and quality standards in hazardous environments.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year in industrial manufacturing, with strong MS Office skills, physical stamina, and the ability to work shifts with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year of Industrial Manufacturing experience.
• Proven experience with C1D1 and C1D2 explosion-proof environments.
• Good written skills and ability to work with MS Office tools.
• Physical stamina to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects.
• Continuous standing for long periods (2-3 hours before break).
• Flexibility to work shifts and occasional overtime.

Responsibilities

• Operate automatic and manual chemical process equipment per procedures.
• Follow specifications and recipes to produce products under ISO 9001/AS9100.
• Perform complex liquid/chemical batch manufacturing with varied equipment.
• Work in C1D1 and C1D2 environments handling hazardous materials.
• Monitor process variables such as temperature, pressure, and flow.
• Route samples for quality control inspections.
• Complete preventive maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow safety/environmental standards.
