Job summary

Air Liquide Global E&C Solutions US Inc. in Newport, DE, is seeking a Chemical Operator to operate automatic and manual chemical process equipment on a 12-hour shift schedule.

You will follow specifications and procedures to produce products under ISO 9001/AS9100 quality systems, in C1D1/C1D2 environments. The role demands 1 year of industrial manufacturing experience, physical stamina, and ability to work overtime.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of Industrial Manufacturing experience.
  • Proven experience with C1D1 and C1D2 Explosion Proof environments, particularly within the context of hazardous material handling and solvent extraction.
  • Good written skills, proficient computer skills, and ability to work with MS Office tools are required.
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects.
  • Continuous standing in one location for long periods (2-3 hours before break).
  • Flexibility to work in shifts and handle occasional overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Operate automatic and manual chemical process equipment of varying complexity in accordance w/ operating procedures, including programmable, logic control devices
  • Follow specifications, job orders, work instructions, recipes and procedures to produce specific products according to our ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality system
  • Perform complex liquid / chemical batch manufacturing, maintaining a familiarity with a variety of production machines
  • Ability to work in C1D1 and C1D2 Explosion Proof environments, particularly within the context of hazardous material handling and solvent extraction
  • Monitor and control process variables, such as temperature, pressure, and flow rates
  • Route product samples for quality control inspection according to procedure
  • Complete preventive maintenance on a regular, timely basis.
  • Handle first-line troubleshooting such as equipment malfunctions, computer program issues, setting adjustments; involving appropriate other experts as needed.
  • Comply with the Company’s safety and environmental standards: Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Assure proper disposal of waste materials
  • Contribute actively to safety improvement programs
  • Comply with all Company policies including safety, operating procedures, quality, attendance and proper on the job conduct

Work Schedule - 12 hour shifts 6pm-6am

Duties
  • Operate automatic and manual chemical process equipment of varying complexity in accordance w/ operating procedures, including programmable, logic control devices

This position is shift work on a 12 hour Dupont Schedule, day-night rotation ___________________
