Job summary

Dow Inc. in Orange, TX, is hiring an Operator to run a chemical plant safely and reliably.

You will monitor processes, operate equipment, and collaborate with shift teams to resolve unplanned events and meet plant goals. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 2+ years in chemical manufacturing operations (or 3+ years military experience), a valid US driver’s license, and willingness to work 12-hour shifts including overtime and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent)
• 2+ years in an Operations role within a Chemical Manufacturing environment
• Ability to work 12-hour shift schedule and overtime including holidays and weekends
• Must have valid US Driver's License.
• No visa sponsorship is available for this position; ability to work legally in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Follow operating discipline to ensure safe, reliable plant operation
• Operate process equipment and monitor conditions to meet plant goals
• Serve on site Emergency Response Team and attend required training
• Conduct shift relief and handoffs to arriving shift team
• Identify and drive process improvements and use management of change processes
• Maintain qualifications and complete training timely
• Mentor and train operations personnel on process operation and troubleshooting
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled operational tasks as needed
• Perform Emergency/Severe Weather response activities as assigned
