Job summary

Voyager Technologies in the Penrose, CO area is seeking a Chemical Engineer to support establishing a new chemical manufacturing facility. The role reports to the Chief Engineer and will be on-site with a planned move to Pueblo, CO within the next year.

You will translate lab data to process requirements, procure and design equipment, test and commission systems, and help ensure safe operation. A BS in chemical engineering or 4+ years experience, strong fundamentals in mass/energy balances, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or related discipline.
• 4+ years of chemical engineering experience in lieu of a degree.
• Experience taking a process through design, testing, iteration, and scale-up.
• Experience executing a project on schedule, within budget, and to required quality standards.
• Working knowledge of mass and energy balances, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics.
• Working knowledge of common unit operations employed in chemical manufacturing.
• Ability to communicate effectively through written, verbal, and presentation channels while explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Translating lab data into process requirements and equipment specifications.
• Procuring existing industrial equipment meeting cost, schedule, and performance requirements.
• Developing and building first-principles solutions alongside the technician team, where existing equipment does not meet the above requirements.
• Testing, refining, and commissioning equipment to bring systems into operation.
• Contributing to the safe development and operation of equipment.
• Identifying, communicating, and tracking engineering risks and mitigations.
