Job summary

Voyager Technologies is hiring a Chemical Engineer to support establishing a new chemical manufacturing facility. The role involves specifying, procuring, designing, building, testing, and commissioning process equipment, reporting to the Chief Engineer within the Chemicals and Explosives Team.

This on-site position is based in Penrose, CO, with a transition to Pueblo, CO within the year. The candidate will translate lab data into equipment specs and manage project execution to meet cost,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or related discipline OR 4+ years of experience in chemical engineering in lieu of a degree
• Experience taking a process through design, testing, iteration, and scale‑up
• Experience executing a project on schedule, within budget, and to required quality standards
• Working knowledge of mass and energy balances, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics
• Working knowledge of common unit operations employed in chemical manufacturing
• Ability to communicate effectively through written, verbal, and presentation channels while explaining technical concepts to non‑technical audiences

Responsibilities

• Translating lab data into process requirements and equipment specifications
• Procuring existing industrial equipment where it meets cost, schedule, and performance requirements
• Developing and building first‑principles solutions alongside the technician team
• Testing, refining, and commissioning equipment to bring systems into operation
• Contributing to the safe development and operation of equipment
• Identifying, communicating, and tracking engineering risks and mitigations
