Job summary

Clean Harbors Kimball, NE seeks a Chemical Engineer – Incineration Supervisor to lead incineration operations, collaborate with shift teams, and drive safety and compliance improvements. The role reports to the Incineration Manager and focuses on optimizing unit conditions, feed parameters, and operational procedures. NEW GRADS encouraged to apply.

Salary starts at $80k per year DOE. Monday–Friday, 6:30 am start with 9-hour days.

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical). NEW GRADS encouraged to apply!
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of pumps, fluid transfer, and control systems.
  • Process simulation experience (ASPEN, HYSYS, ChemCAD).
  • Experience or desire to gain experience in operations environment.
  • Ability to analyze data in Excel, Python, or other applications.
  • Related experience in operations engineering, project management or process engineering.
  • Strong leadership, teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, P&IDs, or computer-generated reports.
  • Background checks, drug screen and physical required.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures health and safety is the number one priority by following all safe work practices.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in incineration operations and board operations.
  • Collaborates with shift supervisors, board operators, and technicians to optimize unit conditions safely and compliant.
  • Operates the unit under direction of the Incineration Manager with feed parameter details.
  • Consults with Engineers to implement operating procedures and resolve system malfunctions.
  • Monitors SOPs for maintenance and production and seeks continuous SOP improvements.
  • Implements regulatory compliance, resolving operational issues.
  • Uses process engineering concepts to propose process or operational improvements.
  • Collaborates with Facility Engineering to implement improvements through the MOC process.

We Build with Passion- Clean Harbors Kimball, NE Incineration unit is hiring a Chemical Engineer- Incineration Supervisor, reports directly to the Incineration Manager, and collaborates with Shift Supervisors, Board Operators, and Incineration Technicians to improve safety, facility compliance, and production efficiencies associated with operation of the incineration unit. Safety focused, dedicated, and career minded individual wanted. Wage 80k per year DOE. Monday- Friday start time 6:30 am, 9- hour days.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensures that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times
  • Demonstrates complete proficiency in incineration operations and incineration board operations.
  • Collaborates with shift supervisors, board operators, and facility technicians to achieve optimal unit conditions while maintaining safety and compliance.
  • Operates the unit with direction from the Incineration Manager with details outlining feed parameters and unit conditions.
  • Confers with Engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, or provide technical information
  • Monitors all standard operating procedures for maintenance and production and works to continuously improve SOP's
  • Implements regulatory compliance, including permitting, by resolving operational issues
  • Utilize process engineering concepts to determine recommendations for process or operational improvement.
  • Collaborate with Facility Engineering to implement improvements through the MOC process to execute changes.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • HS Diploma or equivalent- required
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical)- NEW GRADS encouraged to apply!
  • Ability to work in team environment

  • Mechanically inclined
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Punctuality and attendance
  • Respirator fit test upon hire- clean shaven face required (mustache okay!)
  • Background check, drug screen and physical- required
