Job summary

Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is launching a new Virginia property and seeks a dynamic Chef de Cuisine to shape our culinary program from day one. This leadership role focuses on hiring, training, menu execution, and establishing best practices to drive guest satisfaction.

With a commitment to Lead with Love, the Chef de Cuisine will foster a culture of respect, collaboration, and excellence, while building a strong culinary team for our Spotsylvania resort opening in late 2026.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of culinary leadership in fine dining or high-volume venues.
• Passion for Midwest flavors and modern cooking techniques.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Experience in cost control, purchasing, and kitchen labor management.
• Strong communication and leadership to mentor staff.

Responsibilities

• Execute a chef-driven menu aligned with brand standards.
• Oversee kitchen operations, hygiene, and efficiency.
• Lead, train, and mentor culinary staff from prep to sous level.
• Manage food costs, inventory, and vendor relationships.
• Deliver memorable tableside presentations and guest experiences.
• Collaborate with leadership for seamless front- and back-of-house.
