Kalahari Resorts & Conventions in Spotsylvania County, VA seeks a dynamic Chef de Cuisine to launch and elevate our culinary program for a new resort opening. Lead with love, hire and train staff, set standards, and craft exceptional guest experiences from day one.

The role requires strong leadership, menu execution, and collaboration across departments to deliver a world-class dining experience in a brand-new property.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of culinary leadership experience.
• Passion for traditional Midwestern flavors and modern techniques.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Experience in cost control, purchasing, and kitchen labor management.
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with a passion for guest experiences.

Responsibilities

• Execute a designed menu from Kalahari corporate.
• Oversee kitchen operations, ensuring cleanliness, consistency, and efficiency.
• Lead, train, and mentor culinary staff from prep cooks to sous chefs.
• Manage food costs, inventory, and vendor relationships.
• Execute memorable tableside presentations and collaborate with leadership for seamless service.
