Salary: $95,000 - $100,000 per year + Bonus + Benefits

Little Ruby’s Cafe is a vibrant dining destination in New York City, celebrated for fresh cuisine and warm hospitality. We’re seeking an experienced Chef de Cuisine (CDC) to lead our kitchen and deliver exceptional culinary experiences.

Job Summary

Oversee daily back-of-house operations, ensuring quality, efficiency, and hospitality in collaboration with the General Manager. Lead and develop the kitchen team while maintaining high standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage back-of-house operations, guest satisfaction, and cleanliness.
  • Hire, train, and mentor kitchen staff, fostering professional growth.
  • Ensure recipe accuracy, food safety, and compliance with health standards.
  • Oversee scheduling, inventory, and financial profitability.
  • Collaborate on menu development, creating innovative dishes and specials.
  • Maintain operational systems, including payroll and purchasing.
  • Uphold company policies and Department of Health regulations.
  • Lead by example with a positive and professional attitude.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience as an Executive Chef or CDC in high-volume kitchens.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership, menu planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in financial management, P&L statements, and labor models.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and tech-savvy.
  • Physically capable of standing, lifting, and working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
