Job Opportunity: Cook / Chef at Martin Luther Care Center

Ebenezer offers a robust compensation package with excellent benefits and wages ranging from $20 - $27 / hour. Wage determinations will be based on similar experience.

We are seeking a Cook / Chef to join our team at Martin Luther Care Center. This full-time culinary position involves preparing and cooking meals using standardized recipes to meet high-quality culinary standards. The role includes plating food for optimal eye appeal to encourage resident consumption in our Senior Living Community located in Bloomington, MN.

  1. This position includes:
  2. 80 hours per two weeks
  3. Day / night shift
  4. Every other weekend

Martin Luther Care Center, part of the Martin Luther Senior Living Campus, is located in East Bloomington, near woodlands, wetlands, and the Minnesota River Bluffs. Managed by Ebenezer, we offer 137 units across Skilled Nursing, Memory Care, and Transitional Care. We boast a dedicated team of experienced staff. The only thing missing is YOU! Our center has been named a Top Nursing Home and Transitional Care Center by US News and World Reports for the past two years.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare meals following standardized recipes
  • Handle and prepare food safely, adhering to policies, infection control, and safety standards
  • Ensure timely production and meal service for residents
  • Set up line service
  • Clean and sanitize equipment and work areas after each use
  • Assist with special events
  • Support the Culinary Director with supervision and training of culinary staff
Requirements:
  • ServSafe certification or obtain within 90 days of start date
  • Basic math skills and proficiency with Microsoft applications
  • Strong problem-solving and time management skills
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Must be 18 years or older
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Vocational/technical training, education, or degree
  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Cooking experience in a similar environment
