Job Description

Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return. Assist the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals for the department, and monitor and control all established quality assurance standards. Work closely with the Deli/Baker Merchandising team, as well as the Deli/Bakery department, to create an engaging environment for customers. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety of others.

Responsibilities

• Gain and maintain product knowledge, respond to questions, and make suggestions about products.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
• Inform customers of Cheese Shop specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products they ordered, ensuring correct portion sizes to prevent shrink.
• Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes using appropriate kitchen utensils and equipment.
• Prepare, package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.
• Check product quality, review 'sell by' dates, and take appropriate action.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
• Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping to the department manager.
• Understand the store layout and locate products for customers.
• Stay current with store ads, promotions, and seasonal items.
• Maintain inventory/stocking conditions and report discrepancies.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines, including maintaining proper temperatures and logs.
• Reinforce safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
• Inspect equipment regularly and report repairs needed.
• Report customer or employee accidents, safety risks, or illegal activities.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflicts professionally and act with honesty and integrity.
• Follow directions and seek assistance when needed.
