Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English; write simple correspondence in English.
• Ability to present information effectively to customers, clients, and associates who speak English.

Responsibilities

• Create an environment where customers feel welcome and appreciated by answering questions about products.
• Gain knowledge of products and respond to inquiries, making suggestions to customers.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or products they inquire about.
• Inform customers of store specials and promotions.
• Maintain proper stock, labeling, and inventory of department merchandise.
• Adhere to health, safety, and labeling requirements and ensure accurate temperature and sanitation standards.
