Job summary

Safeway in California is hiring a Front-End Team Member to create a smooth checkout experience for customers, scanning items, bagging groceries, and answering questions with a friendly, efficient approach.

You will rotate between tasks, maintain the checkout area, restock supplies, collect carts, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Prior customer service is welcome but not required.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older (or 18 years of age or older, depending on local/state requirements)
• Completion of company cashier or front-end training upon hire
• Basic math and communication skills required
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Prior customer service experience preferred but not required

• Process transactions accurately at the checkout.
• Scan items and bag groceries.
