Kroger Co. is seeking a part-time Cashier/Checker to create an outstanding customer experience in a safe, clean environment. You will greet customers, process transactions, and adhere to policies and promotions.

Responsibilities include operating the POS system, handling multiple payment types, maintaining accuracy, and upholding store standards while delivering friendly service to diverse customers.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills are essential.
• Basic math skills (counting, adding, subtracting) required.

Responsibilities

• Cashier/Checker is responsible for greeting, engaging and assisting customers.
• Cashiers process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Checkers understand the POS system and handle tenders such as Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, and coupons per policy.
• Checker adheres to cash handling limits and loss prevention policies.
• Cashier adheres to guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow procedures for stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay current with ads and promotions, including seasonal ones.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Reinforce safety by following procedures and reporting unsafe conditions.
