Job summary

Kroger Co. is hiring a Cashier/Checker to deliver outstanding customer service in our store. You will greet customers, assist with purchases, and process transactions accurately at the checkout. You will handle various tender types and follow policies to prevent loss while upholding safety and store guidelines.

You will participate in a fast-paced environment, support promotions, and ensure a welcoming, respectful atmosphere for all customers including minors and individuals with special needs.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage, and assist customers at the check lane.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Understand POS system and handle cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons and loyalty offers.
• Adhere to cash handling limits and work to prevent loss.
• Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures.
• Provide helpful service to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
