• Operate the cash register and process multiple payment types accurately.
• Count back change and issue receipts; handle refunds as needed.
• Stay informed on pricing, promotions, and item locations.

• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines regarding tobacco, alcohol, and lottery items.
• Bag merchandise, assist courtesy personnel, and support drive-up and carry-out service.
• Stay knowledgeable of item lookup numbers, department numbers, and weekly ad price changes.
• Stock, face, and rotate merchandise; keep shelves clean and organized.
• Keep the register area clean and report cash levels as needed.
• Verify register balances at start and end of shifts where applicable.
• Communicate clearly on the intercom or telephone and answer customer questions.
