Qualifications

• No formal education or experience required; training provided.
• Must be able to perform arithmetic and handle POS transactions.
• Able to work as part of a team to deliver a great customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers with a smile and making every visit memorable.
• Operate the cash register accurately, processing payments including cash, checks, cards, coupons, and discounts.
• Count back change, issue receipts, and provide refunds or credit memos as needed.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines regarding WIC, food stamps, tobacco, liquor, and lottery sales.
• Stock, face, and rotate merchandise; assist in bagging, drive-up and carry-out service.
• Stay knowledgeable of item lookup numbers, department numbers, and weekly ad prices.
• Keep the register area clean, report cash levels, and verify balances at shift start/end.
• Communicate clearly over intercom and phone and answer customer questions.
• Stay aware of surroundings to support store safety and security.
• Assist in displays, decorations for promotions, and other areas as needed.
