Job summary

Cummins Inc. in Ocala, FL is looking for a Chassis Technician/Mechanic to perform diagnostics, repairs and maintenance on chassis products in a service workshop under limited supervision. There are sign-on bonus, relocation support, competitive pay and benefits offered.

You will complete complex repairs, inspect components, perform preventive maintenance, assist with diagnostics, and document work orders and quality records while adhering to safety policies. CDL is beneficial but not required.

Qualifications

• Intermediate level knowledge of chassis products.
• Experience repairing and maintaining mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to use diagnostic software and electronic service tools.
• Understanding engine systems including electrical, mechanical, fuel, exhaust, cooling, driveline, aftertreatment, controls and sensors.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues, follow documented repair procedures, and escalate complex concerns when needed.
• Strong service documentation, communication, customer focus, safety awareness and adaptability.

Responsibilities

• Complete complex repairs on chassis and chassis components in a service workshop.
• Disassemble, clean, and inspect chassis and related components.
• Perform preventive maintenance based on chassis and component assessments.
• Assist experienced technicians with diagnostics and the development of repair plans.
• Use mechanical and electronic diagnostic tools to identify and resolve issues.
• Complete required service documentation, including work orders, time sheets, warranty claims, and quality documents.
• Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies and procedures.
• Complete ongoing training and development based on business and skill requirements.
• Maintain tools and the work area for cleanliness and proper operation.
