Job summary

Cummins Inc. in Coburg, OR is seeking a talented Chassis Technician to complete troubleshooting, repairs and maintenance on chassis products in a service workshop, while coaching and developing less experienced technicians.

The position offers a sign-on bonus, relocation assistance, competitive pay and benefits. You will diagnose and repair chassis systems, perform preventive maintenance, use electronic diagnostic tools and service manuals, document work orders and warranty claims, and mentor

Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of chassis systems, diagnostics, repair and maintenance.
  • Ability to perform complex troubleshooting using electronic service tools and diagnostic software.
  • Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, fuel, cooling, exhaust, aftertreatment, driveline and control systems.
  • Experience documenting repairs, diagnostics and maintenance in service management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, maintenance, and complex repairs on chassis and related vehicle systems.
  • Complete preventive maintenance and inspections on chassis components to ensure equipment reliability and performance.
  • Utilize electronic diagnostic tools, service manuals, and other technical resources to accurately identify and resolve issues.
  • Complete service documentation, work orders, warranty claims, and repair records accurately and timely.
  • Coach and support junior technicians and apprentices by sharing technical knowledge and best practices.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area, tools, and equipment.
  • Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies and procedures while promoting a strong safety culture.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to maintain and expand technical skills.

Job Summary:

Completes troubleshooting, repairs and maintenance on chassis products in a service workshop independently while coaching and developing less experienced technicians

In order to be succesful in this role you will need the following:

  • Strongunderstandingofelectrical,mechanical,fuel,cooling,exhaust,aftertreatment,driveline,andcontrolsystems.
  • Experiencedocumentingrepairs,diagnostics,andmaintenanceactivitiesinservicemanagementsystems.
  • Abilitytoprovideguidance,coaching,andtechnicalsupporttolessexperiencedtechnicians.

  • Vocationaldiplomafromarelevanttechnicalinstitutionpreferred.
  • Validdriver'slicenserequired.
  • CDLmayberequireduponhire.Federal law requires C drolder to be at least 21 years of age or older.
  • ApprenticeTrainedTechniciancertificationpreferred.

Work well in a team environment,

  • A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire
  • Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older
Education, Licenses, Certifications:

Apprentice Trained Technician (Preferred).

Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution.

Locally valid driving permit

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

Advanced level knowledge of and/or experience with chassis products

Experience providing technical advice and coaching to more junior technicians (preferred)

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
