Job summary

Student Transportation of America (STA) is seeking a Charter Driver for SchoolWheels Direct in Florida to transport students to events and field trips. In this role you will follow set routes, uphold school bus safety standards, and inspect vehicles daily.

A $500 sign-on bonus is available for qualified applicants, with part-time hours and on-site work. Applicants must hold CDL Class B with Air Brake Passenger and School Bus endorsements, be at least 21, and have a minimum of five years driving

Qualifications

• Must be over 21 years old and have CDL Class B with School Bus, Air Brake, and Passenger endorsements.
• Minimum of 5 years verifiable driving history and a clean motor vehicle record.
• Ability to pass a DOT physical examination and maintain credentials.

Responsibilities

• Transport clients to various locations including sporting events and field trips.
• Ensure safe transportation of all passengers and safe operation of vehicles and equipment.
• Provide friendly courteous service and maintain safety standards and procedures.
• Maintain professionalism and complete daily vehicle inspections.
• Comply with STA/School Wheels Direct safety operating procedures.

Come join our team! As a Charter Driver for SchoolWheels Direct, you will be assigned to transport children to and from Sporting Events/ Field trips as needed. These folks will operate school buses for district Sports Runs with the possibility, if agreed, to work other driving duties as mutually agreed to. You will have the support of a dedicated, local management team and the training needed to perform your job safely, and with care. Charter Drivers are responsible for the safe delivery of students to and from school along set routes, adherence to school bus safety and bus stop safety standards, and daily vehicle inspections, among other duties.

Job Type: Part-time hours vary.

Pay Rate: $25.00 an hour Must have CDL Class B with Air brake Passenger, and School Bus endorsement

Requirements

• Must be over the age of 21.
• Must have CDL Class B or A with School Bus, Air Brake, and Passenger endorsement
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical examination.
• Maintain proper driving credentials..
• Must have a minimum of 5 years verifiable driving history.
• Must be professional and punctual.
• No more than 2 moving violations and 1 preventable accident in the past 3 years
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to adhere to all company safety standards and operating procedures.
• Passion for working with children.
