Job summary

UMBC Transit is seeking a Charter Manager to oversee the Transit Charter Program, coordinating driver scheduling, estimates, and invoicing while ensuring compliance with FMCSA HOS policies. The role requires flexibility for days, nights, and weekends to support training, routes, and program requirements.

The incumbent reports to the Director of Transit and will lead staff development, monitor performance, and participate in safety and operations meetings.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's degree and three years of transportation experience in charter bus operations.
• Two years of customer service experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely estimates, driver scheduling, and service invoicing.
• Operate/assist interstate charters and hire drivers.
• Set goals, conduct performance reviews, and apply progressive discipline as needed.
• Establish staff development and ensure adherence to Transit policies and procedures.
• Participate in department meetings and safety briefings; assist in leadership of Transit operation.
• Perform administrative tasks and other duties as assigned.
