Job summary

The Charles Hotel in Cambridge's Harvard Square seeks a seasoned Food & Beverage Manager to lead dining operations, guest experiences, and team performance.

You will coach staff, manage payroll and scheduling, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, oversee inventory and beverage purchasing, and help deliver exceptional hospitality in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ progressive experience in hospitality or a related degree with experience.
• Proficient in Windows, spreadsheets, and word processing; strong financial and arithmetic skills.
• Supervisory experience preferred with excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to stay composed and objective under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Lead guest experience from lounge to banquet, coaching and training staff for smooth shifts.
• Uphold grooming, safety, and certification standards such as Food Handlers, CPR, and First Aid.
• Handle payroll, scheduling, and reports, tracking staff hours and productivity.
• Ensure food quality, manage promotions, and oversee beverage inventory/purchasing.
• Communicate effectively and solve guest issues to ensure satisfaction.
• Analyze reports, attend meetings, and contribute versatility and positivity.

• Quality & Promotions Pro: You ensure food looks and tastes excellent, create fun promotions, and oversee inventory and beverage purchasing.
• Communication & Problem-Solving Hero: You keep everyone informed and address guest requests or concerns quickly, always ensuring satisfaction.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
