Qualifications

• Associate degree in health information management, healthcare administration, finance, business, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Three years of hospital/clinic revenue cycle, chargemaster maintenance, coding, billing, reimbursement, finance, compliance experience.
• Knowledge of hospital and professional billing concepts, charge capture, claims workflows, medical terminology, coding systems, and payer requirements.
• Experience using electronic health record, patient accounting, billing, or chargemaster management applications.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets and data analysis (sorting, filtering, formulas, reconciliation).
• Experience using Epic for chargemaster maintenance, charge routing, charge capture, and related workflows.

Responsibilities

• Maintain hospital and clinic chargemasters: descriptions, codes, prices, statuses, and effective dates.
• Review requests to add/modify/deactivate charges and ensure approvals and system dependencies.
• Coordinate annual and interim chargemaster reviews with department leaders and finance teams.
• Evaluate charge-capture workflows; identify missed, duplicate, or noncompliant charges and recommend actions.
• Support CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM, revenue codes, modifiers, units, and other billing attributes with billing staff.
• Monitor updates affecting charge descriptions, billing edits, fee schedules, and claims.
• Ensure RHC vs non-RHC charges are routed to correct billing processes.
• Support chargemaster workflows for hospital, professional, outpatient, inpatient, observation, etc.
• Collaborate with clinic leaders on charge structures for procedures, drugs, implants, medications.
• Perform routine audits to identify inactive or noncompliant charge records.
• Investigate charge edits, denials, underpayments, and reconciliation variances; document findings.
• Maintain change logs, approvals, testing docs, reference materials, policies, and education.
• Participate in system implementations, upgrades, interfaces, and testing affecting billing workflows.
• Provide training on charge entry and charging controls to clinical and operational teams.
