Job summary

Frye Regional Medical Center, a 355-bed hospital in Hickory, NC, is seeking a Charge RN for the Neuro Science unit. The role features 12-hour shifts, self-scheduling, and every-other-weekend rotation to support work-life balance.

You will assess patients, initiate nursing interventions, and document care to support appropriate medical decisions. Prior Neuro/Ortho RN experience and NC licensure are required, with ACLS/PALS/NIHSS within six months of hire.

Qualifications

• Active North Carolina RN license (single-state) or compact license.
• Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
• ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS training within six months of hire.
• 2–4 years Neuro/Ortho RN experience required.
• Charge Nurse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs.
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions.
• Provides care appropriate to the condition and age of the patient.
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record.
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments.
