Job summary

Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory, NC is seeking a Charge Registered Nurse (RN) in Neuro Science to lead care on a 20-bed unit, addressing spine/neck/head surgery, stroke and seizure populations. The role offers 12-hour shifts, self-scheduling, and every-other-weekend rotation to support work-life balance.

You will perform accurate patient assessments, initiate nursing interventions, document care, and contribute to interdisciplinary planning.

Qualifications

• Active North Carolina RN license (single-state) or compact required before employment.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS required within six months of hire.
• 2–4 years of Neuro/Ortho RN experience.
• Charge Nurse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs accurate patient assessments and identifies patient needs.
• Initiates appropriate nursing interventions.
• Provides care appropriate to the patient’s condition and age.
• Documents care related to medical necessity in the medical record.
• Completes and revises the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments.
