Frye Regional Medical Center in North Carolina is hiring a Charge Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Neuro Science unit on 12-hour night shifts. The unit is a 20-bed unit with spine/neck/head surgery, stroke, and seizure cases. Self-scheduling and every-other-weekend rotation support work-life balance.

Qualifications

• RN license in good standing (required).
• BLS certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS, PALS and NIHSS required within six months of hire.
• 2–4 years of Neuro/Ortho RN experience preferred.
• Charge Nurse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments and identify patient needs.
• Initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
• Provide age-appropriate care and documentation in the medical record.
• Contribute to the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
• Complete timely QI assessments.

More About Our Team

The RN Neuro Science unit at Frye Regional Medical Center is a 20- Bed unit with a patient population including, but not limited to, spine/ neck/ head surgery, stroke and seizure. The unit offers self‑scheduling, 12‑hour shifts, and every‑other‑weekend rotation, helping promote flexibility and work‑life balance. Nurses gain valuable experience caring for a diverse patient population while working alongside experienced leaders and a strong interdisciplinary team.

How You’ll Contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments

What We’re Looking For

Applicants should have a current state RN license. Bachelor's degree preferred but not required. Additional requirements include:

• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS are required within six months of hire.
• 2-4 years of Neuro/ Ortho RN experience preferred
• Charge Nurse experience preferred
