Job summary

Frye Regional Medical Center in North Carolina is seeking a Charge Registered Nurse (RN) for the Neuro Science unit. This 20-bed unit offers 12-hour shifts, self-scheduling, and every-other-weekend rotation to promote work-life balance.

The role involves leading care for patients with spine/neck/head surgery, stroke, and seizures under a strong interdisciplinary team. Applicants should hold a current RN license; a BSN is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Current state RN license.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS, PALS and NIHSS required within six months of hire.
• 2–4 years Neuro/Ortho RN experience preferred.
• Charge Nurse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate patient assessments and identify patient needs.
• Identify and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
• Provide care appropriate to patient condition and age.
• Complete and revise the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
• Conduct timely and accurate QI assessments.

More About Our Team

The RN Neuro Science unit at Frye Regional Medical Center is a 20- Bed unit with a patient population including, but not limited to, spine/ neck/ head surgery, stroke and seizure. The unit offers self-scheduling, 12-hour shifts, and every-other-weekend rotation, helping promote flexibility and work-life balance. Nurses gain valuable experience caring for a diverse patient population while working alongside experienced leaders and a strong interdisciplinary team.

How You'll Contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have a current state RN license. Bachelor's degree preferred but not required. Additional requirements include:

• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS are required within six months of hire.
• 2-4 years of Neuro/ Ortho RN experience preferred
• Charge Nurse experience preferred
