Job summary

Frye Regional Medical Center is seeking a Charge Registered Nurse (RN) for Neuro Science in Hickory, NC. This role features 3x12 hour night shifts and a $20,000 commitment-incentive bonus to support dedicated team members.

The RN will perform assessments, coordinate care plans, and work within a strong interdisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient care in a 20-bed Neuro Science unit. Eligibility includes an active RN license; ACLS/PALS/NIHSS within six months; 2–4 years Neuro/Ortho

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state.
• Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
• BLS required within 30 days of hire; ACLS, PALS, NIHSS within six months.
• 2–4 years Neuro/Ortho RN experience preferred.
• Charge Nurse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs.
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions.
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient.
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record.
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments.

The RN Neuro Science unit at Frye Regional Medical Center is a 20- Bed unit with a patient population including, but not limited to, spine/ neck/ head surgery, stroke and seizure. The unit offers self-scheduling, 12-hour shifts, and every-other-weekend rotation, helping promote flexibility and work-life balance. Nurses gain valuable experience caring for a diverse patient population while working alongside experienced leaders and a strong interdisciplinary team.

How you'll contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current state RN license. Bachelor's degree preferred but not required. Additional requirements include:

• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS are required within six months of hire.
• 2-4 years of Neuro/ Ortho RN experience preferred
• Charge Nurse experience preferred
