Job summary

Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory, NC is seeking a Charge Registered Nurse (RN) for Neuro Science. This full-time night shift offers a 3x12 hour schedule and a $20,000 commitment-incentive bonus.

The RN will lead a 20-bed neuro unit, support self-scheduling, and participate in interdisciplinary care planning. Responsibilities include accurate patient assessment, timely interventions, and comprehensive documentation.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN in the state where practicing is required.
• Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS, PALS and NIHSS must be completed within six months of hire.
• 2–4 years Neuro/Ortho RN experience preferred.
• Charge Nurse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and identify care needs.
• Initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
• Provide care appropriate to patient condition and age.
• Document medical necessity in the chart accurately.
• Develop and revise interdisciplinary care plans.
• Complete timely quality improvement assessments.

The RN Neuro Science unit at Frye Regional Medical Center is a 20- Bed unit with a patient population including, but not limited to, spine/ neck/ head surgery, stroke and seizure. The unit offers self-scheduling, 12-hour shifts, and every‑other‑weekend rotation, helping promote flexibility and work‑life balance. Nurses gain valuable experience caring for a diverse patient population while working alongside experienced leaders and a strong interdisciplinary team.

How you'll contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN)who excels in this role:

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current state RN license. Bachelor's degree preferred but not required. Additional requirements include:

• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS are required within six months of hire.
• 2-4 years of Neuro/ Ortho RN experience preferred
• Charge Nurse experience preferred
