Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center in Montclair, NJ is seeking a Night Shift, full-time Medical Surgical Charge RN to lead the nursing team on the Medical/Surgical unit and ensure quality patient care.

The Charge RN provides shift leadership, collaborates with supervisors and clinical staff, and mentors bedside nurses to maintain high standards, safety, and efficient workflow in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing required.
• Licensed as an RN in the State of New Jersey.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• At least one year of experience as a Staff RN on a Medical/Surgical unit is required.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead nursing care delivery on the Medical/Surgical unit.
• Serve as an extension of the leadership team during shifts and ensure accountability.

Responsibilities:

• The Charge Nurse—Medical/Surgical Unit has the leadership skills, authority, responsibility, and shift accountability for the delivery of nursing care through the use of the nursing process.
• They are an extension of the leadership team (director, manager, nursing supervisor, clinical preceptor, and/or house supervisor) and must conduct themselves as such.
