Responsibilities

• Evaluate patient outcomes and adjust plans accordingly.
• Provide professional nursing leadership and participate in shift handoffs.
• Maintain ACLS and contribute to bedside handoffs at shift changes.

• Evening differential $2.50/hr.

Our Surgical Unit has thirty two beds, we take care of patients with both surgical and nonsurgical conditions, we care for patients through the nursing process of assessment planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Furthermore, nurses collaborate with other healthcare professionals for best possible treatment of our patients.

Responsibilities:

Job Summary

• Assessment/reassessment - Systematically assesses / reassesses the health care needs of individuals; appropriate for specific age groups and patient conditions. Involves patient, family and other healthcare providers as appropriate
• Nursing Diagnosis and Outcomes - Analyzes assessment to determine nursing diagnosis and expected outcomes, involving patient, family and other healthcare providers as appropriate
• Implementation and Coordination of Care - Provides nursing care through interventions to achieve goals and needs using professional judgement guided by current evidence-based practice, regulations and policy
• Evaluation - Evaluates patient outcomes by utilizing the critical thinking process and evidence based knowledge to recognize problems, evaluate facts and reach sound conclusions

• Serves as department leader alongside and in absence of Nurse Manager
• Maintain ACLS
• RN will oversee and promote bedside handoff at shift changes

Qualifications:

Education

• Diploma or Associate’s degree (ADN) required, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or Master’s of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred

Experience

• One year experience as a Registered Nurse preferred

Licensure / Certification

• Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) training or retraining is required during orientation prior to providing patient care
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment
• RNs with less than one year experience are required to complete Norman Regional’s Nurse Residency Program
