Job summary

Norman Regional Health System is seeking an energetic Registered Nurse to join our 5TA Medical team. The unit focuses on medical/surgical care for adults with a wide range of complex conditions and a commitment to patient safety and high-quality care.

The RN will perform comprehensive assessments, implement care plans, and coordinate with the care team. Evening/night/weekend differentials apply. The schedule is day shift 7a–7p, regular full time. Oklahoma RN license and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• RN clinical care skills and critical thinking
• ACLS/CPR knowledge may be required
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and team

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care and assessments for adult patients
• Participate in care planning and care coordination
• Maintain patient safety and quality of care
• Mentor and lead department staff as needed
• Maintain ACLS and bedside handoff during shifts

Education

Diploma or Associate's degree (ADN) required, BSN or MSN preferred

• Evening differential $2.50/ hr.
• Night differential $3.00/ hr.
• Weekend differential $3.00/hr.

Our 5TA Medical team provides medical/surgical care to adult populations with a wide variety of complex medical conditions. We focus our efforts on restoring optimal physical and mental well-being in each unique situation with a constant goal of maintaining a safe and supportive environment for our patients. Our unit consists of 16 med/surg tele beds and provides post-op colorectal care. We are looking for a high-energy RN with excellent communication skills to join our team of healers.

Job Summary

• Assessment/reassessment - Systematically assesses / reassesses the health care needs of individuals; appropriate for specific age groups and patient conditions. Involves patient, family and other healthcare providers as appropriate.
• Nursing Diagnosis and Outcomes - Analyzes assessment to determine nursing diagnosis and expected outcomes, involving patient, family and other healthcare providers as appropriate.
• Implementation and Coordination of Care - Provides nursing care through interventions to achieve goals and needs using professional judgement guided by current evidence-based practice, regulations and policy.
• Evaluation - Evaluates patient outcomes by utilizing the critical thinking process and evidence based knowledge to recognize problems, evaluate facts and reach sound conclusions.
• Professional Practice.
• Serves as department leader alongside and in absence of Nurse Manager.
• Maintain ACLS.
• RN will oversee and promote bedside handoff at shift changes.

Qualifications

Education

• Diploma or Associate's degree (ADN) required, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.

Experience

• 1 year experience as a Registered Nurse preferred.

(Above requirements can be met by the equivalent combination of education and experience).

Licensure / Certification

• Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) training or retraining is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment.
• RNs with less than one year experience are required to complete Norman Regional's Nurse Residency Program.
