Job summary

Norman Regional is seeking a registered nurse for our Surgical Unit in Norman, OK. The role welcomes new graduates and experienced nurses who thrive in a fast-paced setting and value safe, compassionate clinical care in teamwork with other healthcare professionals.

The unit has 32 beds and handles surgical and nonsurgical cases, following the nursing process from assessment to evaluation. Orientation includes Norman Regional's Nurse Residency for new grads, with day shifts and regular full-time

Qualifications

• Diploma or Associate's degree (ADN) required, BSN or MSN preferred.
• Previous healthcare experience is common but not required for new grads.

Responsibilities

• Assess and reassess patient health care needs across age groups.
• Develop nursing diagnoses and outcomes in collaboration with the care team.
• Provide direct nursing care guided by evidence-based practice and policy.
• Coordinate discharge planning and resources for patient care.

Compensation/Benefits

• $27.74 -$45.46/hr. depending on previous work experience.
• Evening differential $2.50/hr.
• Night differential $3.00/hr.
• Weekend differential $3.00/hr.

Our Surgical Unit at Norman Regional is seeking a new graduate or experienced RN to join our TEAM. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environment, has a strong willingness to learn, understands how to deliver safe and effective & compassionate clinical care along side a team.

Our Surgical Unit has thirty two beds, we take care of patients with both surgical and nonsurgical conditions, we care for patients through the nursing process of assessment planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Furthermore, nurses collaborate with other healthcare professionals for best possible treatment of our patients.

Job Summary

RN essential functions include, but are not limited to:

• Assessment/reassessment - Systematically assesses / reassesses the health care needs of individuals; appropriate for specific age groups and patient conditions. Involves patient, family and other healthcare providers as appropriate
• Nursing Diagnosis and Outcomes - Analyzes assessment to determine nursing diagnosis and expected outcomes, involving patient, family and other healthcare providers as appropriate
• Implementation and Coordination of Care - Provides nursing care through interventions to achieve goals and needs using professional judgement guided by current evidence-based practice, regulations and policy
• Evaluation - Evaluates patient outcomes by utilizing the critical thinking process and evidence based knowledge to recognize problems, evaluate facts and reach sound conclusions
• Evaluates discharge needs related to plan of care utilizing resources as needed

Qualifications

Education

• Diploma or Associate's degree (ADN) required, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred

Experience

• Previous experience in healthcare field preferred

Licensure / Certification

• Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse license or active Multistate RN license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) training or retraining is required during orientation prior to providing patient care
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment
• New grads are required to complete Norman Regional's Nurse Residency Program
