Job summary

Norman Regional Health System is seeking a new graduate or experienced RN for our Surgical Unit. You will deliver safe and compassionate care in a fast-paced environment as part of a collaborative team.

The unit has 32 beds and treats surgical and non-surgical patients. You will follow the nursing process, collaborate with other professionals, and help ensure optimal patient outcomes while advancing your skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma or ADN required; BSN or MSN preferred
• One year RN experience preferred
• Oklahoma RN license; BLS/ACLS required during orientation and maintained

Responsibilities

• Assess/reassess patient care needs across age groups
• Develop nursing diagnoses and expected outcomes with patient, family and team
• Coordinate and provide care using evidence-based practice and professional judgment
• Lead department during absence of Nurse Manager; maintain ACLS; oversee bedside handoff at shift changes

Our Surgical Unit at Norman Regional is seeking a new graduate or experienced RN to join our TEAM. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environment, has a strong willingness to learn, understands how to deliver safe and effective & compassionate clinical care along side a team.

Our Surgical Unit has thirty two beds, we take care of patients with both surgical and nonsurgical conditions, we care for patients through the nursing process of assessment planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Furthermore, nurses collaborate with other healthcare professionals for best possible treatment of our patients.

Responsibilities

• Assessment/reassessment - Systematically assesses / reassesses the health care needs of individuals; appropriate for specific age groups and patient conditions. Involves patient, family and other healthcare providers as appropriate
• Nursing Diagnosis and Outcomes - Analyzes assessment to determine nursing diagnosis and expected outcomes, involving patient, family and other healthcare providers as appropriate
• Implementation and Coordination of Care - Provides nursing care through interventions to achieve goals and needs using professional judgement guided by current evidence-based practice, regulations and policy
• Evaluation - Evaluates patient outcomes by utilizing the critical thinking process and evidence based knowledge to recognize problems, evaluate facts and reach sound conclusions
• Professional Practice
• Serves as department leader alongside and in absence of Nurse Manager
• Maintain ACLS
• RN will oversee and promote bedside handoff at shift changes

Qualifications

Education

• Diploma or Associate's degree (ADN) required, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred

Experience

• One year experience as a Registered Nurse preferred

(Above requirements can be met by the equivalent combination of education and experience).

Licensure / Certification

• Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) training or retraining is required during orientation prior to providing patient care
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment
• RNs with less than one year experience are required to complete Norman Regional's Nurse Residency Program
