About Charge Nurse

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN)

Qualifications

• Must have a current RN/LPN license
• Ability to understand, remember, and carry out verbal or written instructions in English
• Ability to complete assignments in a timely manner
• Ability to be flexible and positive with intermittent interruptions

• Ensure resident safety
• Provide quality nursing care by planning, organizing, and directing nursing functions
• Assign tasks appropriate to staff skill levels
• Maintain acceptable standards of patient care
• Identify problems and guide personnel to solutions

• Implement physicians' orders accurately and promptly
• Support infection-control policies and procedures

• Gather and document comprehensive nursing history

• Notify physicians of changes in patient condition
