Job summary

Northwest Texas Healthcare System in Amarillo, TX seeks a Registered Nurse to provide safe, competent care guided by policy and nursing process. You will lead the healthcare team and uphold patient-centered care. Texas license and BLS are required, with ongoing competency development.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program.
• Must pass pre-employment assessments.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association.
• Current Texas nursing license.
• De-escalation training within 90 days of hire.
• Ongoing demonstration of clinically pertinent competencies.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, and evaluates an age-appropriate plan of care utilizing the nursing process, clinical skills, and patient education.
• Maintains professional behavior when dealing with issues or conflicts as needed.
• Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, families, visitors, and employees.
• Assess risks to patient safety and implement appropriate precautions.
• Complies with standards outlined by the organization and accrediting agencies.
• Complies with safety and injury prevention standards to minimize risk in nursing care.
